All band students will be doing their registration time on August 4th from 8am - 12pm since they will miss their time during band camp.

Band Camp at Camp Montlure is fast approaching,(July 27th – August 1st), if you have questions or have not filled out all of the paperwork please attend the Ice cream social on June 24th in the school cafeteria from 6:30 – 8:00 pm to get all of your questions answered. Remember band camp packets are due by June 30th 2008.

Anyone who is doing band in the fall, who has not received information in the mail, Please e-mail Kyle Kinnaman to get a packet at director@sahuaroband.com.

This is Sean Swanson, drumline instructor and I'll be hosting a VOLUNTARY informal "chop shops" Tuesday June 24th from 4-6pm, Tuesday July 1st 4-6pm, and Tuesday July 15th from 6-8pm at the Sahuaro H.S. band room. Drumline auditions will be held Thursday July 24th from 8am to 5pm. Any students interested in auditioning for the drumline for the 2008/2009 season can play on the instruments and get pointers at these classes, however, attendance is not necessary for participation in drumline auditions. Please bring a three-ring binder with sheet protectors, a pencil, sticks (any kind) and a practice pad if possible. Audition information and materials will be available at the chop shops, as well as at the ice cream social on June 24th. Questions, or to request an audition packet can be directed to me at Boomers30@hotmail.com after June 24th.

We have confirmed that the Sahuaro Band is planning to attend the Holiday Bowl in San Diego,CA. The dates are December 27 – 31. More information will come regarding this event as Fall band information becomes available over the summer.

Band Camp (July 27th – August 1st) ALL student who are attending must get a band camp packet, have it filled out, and turned into the band office by June 30th. Any student who is currently registered for band for the fall will receive a band camp packet and an AIA packet through the mail. If someone is unsure if they are registered, they can e-mail Mr. Kinnaman with their name and address and that information will be mailed to them by the end of the month. We are also in need of Chaperones, any parents who are interested in chaperoning up north to Montlure, you need to e-mail Mr. Kinnaman by June 1st, with their name, phone number, and e-mail address, and express an interest in chaperoning the trip.

Attached you will see the SHS Summer band schedule. It serves as an update for any and all events taking place in the Sahuaro band program now and throughout the Summer.
